Soft tissue mobilization can be performed using a variety of therapy tools and techniques. At SportsCare and Armworks, it is common for our therapists to use Graston and cupping during your appointments. The goal of these treatments is to mechanically break up scar tissue or muscle adhesions by massaging with metal tools or lifting and separating tissue layers with suctioning cups. Combined with appropriate exercises, these treatments will promote pain reduction and more efficient movement.

Athletes experience many set-backs following an injury. Rehabilitation for return to sports can be challenging both mentally and physically. For our running athletes (which includes most sports) we beef up our gait training to get you moving at a faster pace, focusing on rapid changes in direction or speed if necessary. Once mental confidence is acquired, and you no longer compensate to protect a muscle or joint, we will focus on your hip, knee, ankle and foot mechanics. Corrections will be made to your foot strike, ankle range of motion, knee drive, and hip stability to ensure everything is functioning properly together for improved performance and injury prevention.
